Adiy Bin Yunus

I'm a product designer with a background in architecture and strategic design. I work across enterprise systems and large-scale consumer products, and I care about the full arc of a problem, from early framing to shipping things that actually hold up at scale.
I'm comfortable in ambiguity, and I tend to bring structure to spaces that are still taking shape.Lately, I've been exploring how AI can genuinely improve how we work and what we build, not just as a feature, but as a shift in the process itself.

My story

I started out as an architect in Chennai. Not just studying it, practicing it, drawing buildings, thinking about how people move through spaces, how a room can make you feel small or held or inspired. Those years taught me something I still carry: that design is never really about the object. It is always about the person experiencing it.

But somewhere along the way I realised I wanted more. I wanted to see my work reach more people, faster. I was drawn to technology, to the speed of it, to the idea that something I designed on a Tuesday could be in someone's hands by Friday. Architecture moves slowly. I wanted to move fast.

So I went to Milan. Not to escape design but to understand the bigger picture around it. Strategy, business models, how organisations make decisions, how products get shaped long before a designer touches them. It gave me a language I did not have before, one that let me sit in rooms with product managers and executives and actually contribute to the conversation.

I came back to India and joined Lollipop, a design agency in Bangalore. Working across different products and clients, I learned what it actually means to translate strategy into shipped work, to navigate real client constraints, to move fast and iterate. It was where architectural thinking met product reality for the first time.

Then Berlin. Deutsche Telekom. Since October 2022, designing at a scale I could not have imagined in architecture school. Products used by millions across different countries, different languages, different expectations. I learned what it really means to design in constraints, to bring a team with you when the path is not obvious, and that good design is as much about communication and systems as it is about craft.

Beyond design

Outside of work, I enjoy cooking Indian and Thai food, hosting friends, and occasionally putting together a game night. I like staying active through fitness and sports, and I can get a little competitive when there’s a score involved.

I enjoy traveling and learning about different cultures, and I’m usually thinking about the next place I’d like to explore. I also like taking photos of everyday moments and the people around me.

Design is what I do professionally, but these experiences shape how I stay curious and how I see the world.
